Bring the whole picture, not a product pick
A real visit starts with your health and your goal. A product menu is not an assessment.
Gather four kinds of detail
- What you want help with, in your own words.
- Current medicines, supplements, and allergies.
- Past health problems, recent care, and any test results already on hand.
- Your current location during the visit.
Your location affects who can treat you
The clinician is the doctor, nurse practitioner, or other licensed health worker who assesses you. As of September 2026, that person generally needs a licence from whichever state you are physically in when the visit takes place, or that state’s formal permission to treat people there.
A polished national website does not replace that state record. Ask for the clinician’s full name before care starts.
The format has to fit the care
A fixed tick-box form cannot stand alone, in the view of the FSMB, a body every state medical board belongs to. Proper care means someone can ask you follow-up questions, and you can ask the clinician yours.
If the assessment needs an exam, a lab, or another test, the clinician can arrange it or send you to in-person care.
