Match the proof to the exact product

A study of an ingredient is not proof that every version sold online does the same thing.

exact product
same use

A study helps you only when the product, the use, and the people studied match your situation.

Start with four matches

  • The same active ingredient.
  • The same form and way into the body, such as a pill or a shot.
  • The same health goal.
  • The same kind of patient.

If one part differs, the result may not answer the question in front of you.

Know what approval does and does not cover

As of September 2026, the label of an FDA-approved medicine covers only that product and the illnesses it was approved to treat. A compounded drug is not FDA-approved.

The FDA did not check the compounded drug’s quality or effect before it was sold.

Do not turn reports into proof

A report that something happened after a medicine was used does not prove the medicine caused it.

Treat such reports as a reason to look closer, not as an answer. Stronger answers come from controlled studies, where one group gets the medicine and a similar group does not, and from the medicine’s current label. You do not have to judge a study yourself: ask the clinician which studies support the use, and whether they tested this exact product.
